Copper clad laminate press is a kind of equipment specially used for producing copper clad laminate. Copper clad laminate is usually used in the manufacturing process of printed circuit board (PCB). Its main function is to combine copper foil and insulating substrate (such as FR-4) to form a conductive layer. At present, vacuum press is mostly used, heated by thermal oil, and double-width pressing. Vacuum laminator generally consists of four major parts: oil cylinder and hydraulic system, heating plate and heating and cooling system, vacuum system, control system.
Application areas:
•Printed circuit board (PCB): used to manufacture various types of circuit boards, including single-sided, double-sided and multi-layer boards.
•Electronic products: widely used in the production of electronic equipment such as mobile phones, computers, and home appliances.
The most commonly used one is the "two hot and one cold" press group, in which two hot presses and one cold press are equipped and share a set of mobile push-pull pallet trucks.

•The heating and cooling of the product are carried out in the hot and cold presses respectively, and the production efficiency and output are relatively high.
•Save heat source (the hot press plate in the hot press does not need to be cooled).
•In the layout of large-scale production workshops, the equipment occupies less space and the investment is relatively small. It is also easy to realize automated assembly line production.
•The equipment configuration is relatively reasonable and the utilization rate is high.

Selection of Copper Clad Laminate Hot Press and Heating Equipment
I. Heating Equipment for Copper Clad Laminate Hot Press
1. Comparison of Heating Methods
Traditional heating methods include steam and electric heating. Steam heats quickly but requires a pressure boiler, which can lead to uneven temperatures due to condensation. Electric heating is easy to control but consumes a lot of power. For PCB and FPC hot presses, the main heating methods are steam, hot water, and thermal oil, with most customers using thermal oil.
- Steam Heating: Directly supplied from the boiler; simple structure but significant temperature fluctuations. Cooling can be done with cold water.
- Hot Water Heating: Uses a storage tank, maintaining temperature within ±1°C, making it energy-efficient.
- Thermal Oil Heating: Similar to hot water but offers better precision and safety. Temperature can also reach above 310°C, unlike steam or hot water.
2. Performance of Hot Press Plates
Hot press plates require careful design to ensure uniform heating and minimize leakage through effective flow of heating media.
II. Hydraulic System of Copper Clad Laminate Hot Press
1. Process Requirements
The hydraulic system must apply pressure to the workpiece and drive the hot press plates. Rapid closure and pressure maintenance are crucial performance indicators.
2. Hydraulic Cylinder
The hydraulic cylinder is the core component, typically using plunger-type cylinders. Pre-sale and after-sale services are also important considerations.
